SAN SIRO, HOW TO GET THERE ?

SAN SIRO STADIUM : A gift from Pirelli

The San Siro (named after the saint who had a chapel dedicated to him in this suburb) stadium was a gift from the Milan president Piero Pirelli (in charge from 1909 for twenty years) to 'his Milan'. The stadium was built in just 13 and a half months, thanks to the work of 120 construction workers. The total cost of the operation came to five million lire which in today's terms would translate to three and a half million euro. The stadium was designed by Ulisse Stacchini, the architect whose other major work in the city was the Milan Central Station, and renowned engineer Alberto Cugini.

MIlan 1 catania 1, borriello double save milan

Milan 1 catania 1, borriello double save milan
Marco Borriello struck a second-half brace to spare AC Milan's blushes against Catania but this afternoon's draw did little to boost the Rossoneri's flagging hopes of a first Serie A title since 2004.

Maxi Lopez gave the visitors a shock lead after 12 minutes and Adrian Ricchiuti doubled their advantage two minutes before the break to silence the San Siro.

Borriello pulled one back for Leonardo's side three minutes into the second half and then levelled matters nine minutes from time, but the draw left Milan four points behind new Serie A leaders Roma with five games remaining.

The hosts kicked off this encounter knowing victory would have put them within a point of city rivals Inter Milan, who were held to a 2-2 draw at Fiorentina last night.

It might all have gone more smoothly for Milan had Ronaldinho's far-post volley, after being fed by Ignazio Abate, flown under rather than over the bar in the second minute.

As it was, the opening goal arrived at the other end 10 minutes later.

First Ricchiuti's free-kick caught the Milan defence cold and allowed the unmarked Giuseppe Mascara a free header at goal, but Massimo Ambrosini was able to clear at the back post.

Within 60 seconds, the Sicilians were ahead, however. Ricchiuti fed a fine ball through to Lopez, who beat the offside trap and lashed a low shot across Milan goalkeeper Dida.

Ronaldinho had half a chance to restore parity after 19 minutes but Borriello's pass gave Catania goalkeeper Mariano Andujar chance to come off his line and clear.

Defender Nicolas Spolli came to the visitors' rescue again six minutes later, diverting the danger away for a corner after a counter-attack involving Clarence Seedorf and Ronaldinho fed Borriello in a decent position.

Borriello then saw his header from Ronaldinho's left-wing cross blocked by Andujar after 36 minutes, and seven minutes later the hosts were two down.

Lopez crossed for an unmarked Ricchiuti to nod past Dida, with the Milan defence again in disarray.

Milan set out for the second half looking like a different team and were rewarded after only three minutes.

Andrea Pirlo's long ball found Seedorf, who centred for Borriello to head past Andujar.

Catania almost restored their two-goal cushion eight minutes later when Marco Biagianti's 20-yard drive whistled just past Dida's left post, but the action soon switched back to the other end.

Ronaldinho's pass looked destined to find Klaas Jan Huntelaar but Ciro Capuano anticipated well and cleared for a corner.

Andujar was called into action after 72 minutes, saving well from Huntelaar's fierce low shot after the Dutchman had latched onto Pirlo's long cross and evaded the attentions of Mascara.

The equaliser arrived after 81 minutes and once again the hosts had Borriello to thank. Abate's cross from the right found the Italy striker, who turned well and fired a right-footed shot low into Andujar's net.

Massimo Ambrosini almost undid all Milan's good work to get back into the game when he carelessly gifted possession to Lopez and allowed the former Barcelona man a one-on-one opportunity with Dida, but his attempted lob was unsuccessful.

Milan had one final chance to take all three points when substitute Filippo Inzaghi mustered a low shot from a tight angle in stoppage time, but Andujar saved well at full stretch.

Milan vs Siena

MILAN: Dida; Abate, Nesta, Thiago Silva, Antonini; Gattuso, Pirlo, Flamini; Beckham, Borriello, Ronaldinho.
SIENA: Curci; Rosi, Terzi, Brandao, Del Grosso; Vergassola, Codrea, Ekdal, Rossi; Jajalo, Maccarone.

At San Siro it finished Milan-Siena 4-0. In the first half the Rossoneri took the lead through a penalty converted by Ronaldinho, and in the 28th minute Borriello doubled the score with a splendid goal. In the second half the Rossoneri scored again in the 72nd and 89th minutes with Ronaldinho, who scored his first hat-trick with the Rossoneri.

Serie A 6 january 2010- Milan vs Genoa, David Beckham back to San siro

David Beckham has completed his loan move to AC Milan and said he was almost moved to tears when they were drawn against Manchester United FC in the UEFA Champions League first knockout round.

United reunion
Just as last year, the LA Galaxy midfielder has agreed to join Milan for the second half of the Italian season, and has now officially completed his move following a medical. The Rossoneri will take on United on 16 February and 10 March, the second leg at Old Trafford – Beckham's home until his 2003 switch to Real Madrid CF – and England's most-capped outfield player was taken aback when the teams were paired on 18 December.

'Special place'
"I almost started to cry after the draw," the 34-year-old said. "Old Trafford is a special place for me and I haven't played there for almost seven years. I have many friends in Manchester and I have a special relationship with the fans there, it will be a great night for me. However we have to take it extremely seriously and try to win."

New faces
Since Beckham left Milan in the summer, Leonardo has succeeded Carlo Ancelotti as coach and there have been playing changes too. However, Beckham said: "Carlo Ancelotti, Paolo Maldini and Kaká are not here any more but Milan is like United, things don't change so drastically from one year to another. The atmosphere in the locker room is always great, after a difficult start things are going well now and I'm sure I will have a good time here."

Ready to adapt
Milan's fortunes have been on the up since Leonardo switched to a 4-3-3 formation with only one holding midfielder, but Beckham expects to settle in quickly. "The playing system is different compared to last season but I'm sure I can adapt," he said. "I'm just glad to be back and it won't be a problem not to be in the starting XI . Playing here doesn't give me the security of a place in the national team either. I'm here only to win the Scudetto, and I believe we can do it if we work hard."

With all the trophies won by the most winning club in the world behind him, David Beckham talked about his passion for the Rossoneri to the journalists who came for his presentation press conference:

Welcome back David! Did you miss Milan in these months?
"I've missed it a lot! I missed the group, the club, the fans, the environment in general. My first six months here were wonderful, a unique experience which I haven't forgotten."

Since you left a lot has changed. Carlo Ancelotti, Ricky Kaká and Paolo Maldini have gone, what group have you found back?
"It's true that Milan have changed a lot, it's true, but the basis of great clubs like Milan and like Manchester United doesn't change. Milan remain Milan. It's true that an important guide like Paolo Maldini is no longer here, he was a charismatic captain with a lot of personality, the best footballer of the world is missing in Ricky Kaká and also the coach has changed, but the group remains a great group, motivated and full of enthusiasm. At the start of the season the team had some problems, but it has recovered and now it's playing very well. I'm proud to play with these great champions."

You named Manchester. What effect did it have knowing you would meet them in the Champions League?
"It will be a special evening! The day of the draw I cried of emotion, I'll have the chance of returning to Manchester and play against the club I always wanted to play with since childhood. I'll find many friends, all my fans who haven't forgotten me, it will be an evening of strong emotions. It's been seven years since I've been to Manchester and I will do so with Milan's shirt, with the shirt of a club as prestigious as United, all this fills me with pride!"

After these six months what will your future be?
"I don't know, we'll see. I'm very honored to be here again. I come here knowing I will stay at least six months, the first time we weren't so sure for many reasons. I only think about working hard and do well in a special club. Then we will see if Milan will still be in my future."

Have you thought about what position you might play in this new system of Leonardo?
"The system has changed, it's different. This is nevertheless a team full of talent, experience, it will take some time to understand this new system but not that much. In any case I don't pretend to be a first choice player. If I'm a reserve I'll still be proud to be a part of this group. I don't think about my position, I'd be truly happy to play in any role, also as a goalkeeper! I'm a versatile midfielder and this will help me in any position."

Have you talked to Leonardo?
"Yes, I've talked to him. He asked about my physical conditions, of how I reacted to the work of the past few days, we'll have time to talk about the system and my position on the pitch. As I said this is a great team which I think can win the Scudetto. There are dangerous rivals like Inter and Juventus, but if Milan work hard they can aim for the title."

Did you never think about going to a team that would guarantee you a place in the team?
"No, never! Milan were always my first choice, from the first moment we talked about a loan from Galaxy to another team. The possibility of playing at the World Cup is certainly an objective, but I didn't come to this club to go to the World Cup. I chose Milan for many reasons, because I like this club's philosophy and I arrived here without any pretenses. It's great to be here, even just to help the group win, even without being guaranteed a place in the team, this is Milan!"

Do you think you are ready to face Genoa already?
"It would certainly be nice, but as I've said I don't know if I'll be a first choice. I have to work on my athletic condition even though I'm already doing well. I am making myself available. Leonardo will know how and when to use me and I'm fine with that. I've already scored against Genoa and I'd like to repeat myself, I remember that goal with a lot of emotion. My job is to be useful to this team, even if only for five minutes."

What do you hope for the new year?
"My first hope is to win the Scudetto. Then I hope for health and serenity with my whole family, with whom I will celebrate New Year's in London."

Did you hear Fabio Capello's nice words for you?
"They pleased me very much! Even though I know I have no guarantee of a place at the World Cup I thank him. I'll do what I can to work hard, to help Milan win, then we'll see."

Milan against Manchester. Will you be happy regardless of the result?
"We want to go through in the cup! It will be a great emotion to face Manchester, but I'll do it with Milan's shirt, with the desire to win and go through."

Have you never worried about what your team mates might think about the fact you are coming here for just six months?
"I asked myself that only the first time. I met an exceptional group and I immediately understood that at Milan there is no jealousy. Everyone welcomed me well, they did all they could to make me feel at home. At Milan there is a common objective, which is to win, all the players do what they can to help each other, to make this team win!"

The year that has just passed was a positive one only towards the end for Marco Borriello. And now that 2010 arrived, the attacker is asking to feel fine and to be a protagonist. He has clear ideas which, exclusively for Milan Channel, revealed. These are his declarations: “First of all my wishes for a good year to everyone. 2009 started out badly for me and finished with some good performances, together with which arrived my first goals. As a team we have reached important objectives: we have passed the round of the Champions League and we have reached the second place in the league. I would say a good final part of the year from which to restart. “My nicest goal and best performance of 2009? The nicest goal I think it was the second goal at home against Parma: for an attacker to score an scissor kick in front of his own fans at San Siro is a dream. The match which I feel most mine was that against Cagliari, because we took home the win and I obtained a penalty, made an assist and scored a goal. It was a complete game. For the rest, I think that I played too little due to injuries, practically just two months, about 10 games. I hope that in this 2010 I play 5-6 months in a row and prove my worth. We start off from Genoa. From my experience with the Rossoblu I have very beautiful memories in my heart. The Genoa one was the most important season of my career. Surely I will meet a bit of emotion, but now two years have gone by. Now I defend the Rossoneri colours and I hope to bring home a win for my team. “The difference between our trident and the one of Gasperini? From an individual level in attack, without taking anything away from Genoa, we have players on the wings with an incredible talent. Maybe they have the team-play more than us: as a group they are more oiled because they play together and with the same coach for a long time. We are learning to move also from the team level and you will soon see a solid and aggressive side who knows how to defend and attack. “When you play with incredible talents, like Pato and Ronaldinho, you must follow their minds and their talent, you must also put in the intuition. In these games the things with them went very well For me to play with such champions is a great honour and I hope to play for a long time with them. I thank Seedorf and Ronaldinho for the nice words which they used towards and I thank them for highlighting my work. They also spoke about the national team: I dream of playing with the Azzurri’s shirt, but I don’t want to get my hopes too high. I think about giving my best until May. If then I obtain something, it will be all gained. If instead it will not be like this, I will go on holiday and I will side with Italy. “As objectives I want to win something important from the squad level. From the personal level I want to be protagonist in the win. I was part in the past of important wins in the Champions League or in the league, but even though I was in the group, I never felt that those wins were mine. I hope that this year I obtain some success and to be a protagonist.”

Ayo Dinho !

Maldini pensiun..
Kaka pergi..
Ancelotti pergi..

Daniele Bonera renewed his contract until 2013

Daniele Bonera renewed his contract until 2013, and expressed all of his satisfaction. The Rossoneri's defender, always a Milan fan, launched a message to the fans: "This club still has a lot of will to win."

"I'm very happy because this contract renewal arrived in a delicate and difficult moment for me. I never played for almost five months and the club's will is that of extending the contract which for me is a great sign of trust which puses me to have more motivations and responsibilities."

Now I feel fine. This morning a cycle of training sessions ended, but during the holidays I will continue to work with a trainer ahead of the July 6 training camp. The objective is that of returning to perfect condition and not to have a tough impact with the preparation.

These are particular hours for the Milan fans and I understand. However, I can easily calm all the fans down by saying that the will to do well, which this club has, was never lost. We spoke about the future of this team and my position on the pitch. With the tactical idea of our new coach which sees more push on the wings, I will be seen as a central defender. In any case, I give all of my availability to play where I would be requested to play. Kaka? I consider him still a team-mate, he's a symbol and for certain verses the perfect companion. He's a great person, never above lines. Right now the club is making some evaluations which I don't have any say in, therefore I cannot express judgements."

At Florence it was really tough to bid farewell to our coach. With Carlo Ancelotti we had a great rapport, but in any case he will always be part of Milan's history. The coach left a great sign, and what a sign!"

Paolo Maldini's 900th official match

Viva Paolo...

Paolo Maldini, At Udine he made his debut, with Liedholm on the bench. Against Udinese at S. Siro, the party for the 20 years in football. Saturday again Udine: Paolo Maldini's 900th official match. Always with the Rossoneri shirt.

Udinese, Udinese, and Udinese. When the big arms of football history embrace Paolo Maldini, here is once again the team from Friuli at the crossroads. It happened on 20 January 1985, the Sunday of the Serie A debut of Cesare's son, with a draw at the Stadio Friuli between Udinese and Milan. It happened on 16 January 2005, in the Sunday where Italian football celebrated the 20 years in football of the Rossoneri captain and former national team captain, with 3-1 victory against Udinese. It will happened again next Saturday, when Paolo Maldini will play his 900th official match with Milan's shirt. Where? At Udine, where else.

Perfect last night against Juventus, judged as one of the best Rossoneri players in the evening match, Paolo Maldini is playing with class and pride. Where the first quality starts and the second begins isn't known, as they are so intertwined. One thing's for sure: Paolo, as always, is at the service of the team. But his real strength is his self-respect. After the important matches he is playing individually, no one will ever say Cesare's son retired too late. Aerial play, runs: Paolo is still there, against anyone, who's next. He is ending his career as a world-class player at 41 years old.

Now it's time to write another piece of history. Where in 1985 there was Selvaggi, and now there is Quagliarella, the great Paolo Maldini achieves an incredible target. In the same stadium as his first official match, when he was worried about his oral test at school the next day, he will play his 900th. Four World Cups later, with a record amount of appearences with the national team, and a palmares with 26 titles (Italian, European, and World) won with his club. A transcendental champion, respected by everyone, Paolo Maldini is a precious good for football at all levels.

It's Over, Milan 1- Juve 1, Scudetto for Inter

JUVENTUS: Buffon; Grygera, Legrottaglie, Chiellini, De Ceglie; Camoranesi, Poulsen, Zanetti, Marchionni; Iaquinta, Amauri.

Milan - Juve Draw!!

Sial , Milan hanya seri lawan Juventus...

Declarations of Rossoneri coach Carlo Ancelotti
Here are the declarations of Rossoneri coach Carlo Ancelotti to Milan Channel's microphones today at Milanello before the afternoon training session:

Coach, Sunday night Juventus arrive at San Siro. What emotions will this match give, given also Juventus' negative moment?
"The two teams arrive at Sunday's match in different states of mind. Milan are in a good moment while Juventus are going through a delicate situation, there's a bit of bad humor, but considering our point of view, a team in difficulty could find energies that could be indispensable for the moment they are going through. That's why we have to prepare it with a lot of attention, knowing that we have to take advantage of this moment. Matches between these two teams, in any case, are always fascinating and very strongly felt. They also give a good feeling when you're able to win."

In the history of Milan-Juventus, with Carlo Ancelotti on the pitch, there was a great goal at San Siro.
"Yes, I remember it well, it was the end of December, a great goal, a nice memory."

In 2005 (Milan-Juventus of 8 May 2005) would you have preferred to play the match at night?
"I don't know if it would have changed if we had played Milan-Juventus at night, certainly it would have given us an advantage because we came from an unhappy moment: we had lost the Champions League semifinal even though we qualified anyway, but the team was tired and I don't think that playing the match at night would have given us an advantage."

After having seen the images of Gigi Buffon during the match against Lecce last Sunday, as someone who knows him, how do you think he is going through this moment?
"I think his gestures were tied to the great affection and great professionalism Buffon has towards his team mates and the club. However, only they know what happened. I think we will find a very determined Buffon, as will be Juventus."
declarations of Gianluca Zambrotta
These are the declarations of Gianluca Zambrotta to Milan Channel, today at Milanello, after the training session:
Gianluca, you have been used by the coach both on the right and on the left hand side during the game against Catania.
“These are decisions which the coach takes during the game, he knows that he can play me on both sides. Now the team only wants to continue going forward like this and win the last games which we still have to try and remain in second place.”

Milan-Juventus: it’s the hot zone of the league because from now until the end there will be four teams who have always remained in the top positions of the standings.
“These will be four very difficult games because these are all teams who are fighting to reach the Uefa Cup or to reach the preliminary round of the Champions League.”

Milan arrives to the clash on Sunday from a series of five consecutive wins.
“The wins always give morale, then apart from positive results, we are also playing well and this leads to think more positively than before. We are better also in condition, this is an important fact and we hope to maintain this physical form until the end of the season.”

What game do you expect on Sunday?
“An important game for us and it will be difficult because Juventus are a team who never give up, it will be tough.”

During the past days there were the second legs of the Champions League semi finals. How would you have seen this Milan side against these four teams?
“Right now Milan could have played against all four teams who arrived to the semi finals. We came out maybe too late due to many factors, but the important thing is to end the season and place ourselves amongst the top three in the league, so that we can start next year at great levels.”

History of San siro Milan

The history of the San Siro stadium

A gift from Pirelli

The San Siro (named after the saint who had a chapel dedicated to him in this suburb) stadium was a gift from the Milan president Piero Pirelli (in charge from 1909 for twenty years) to 'his Milan'. The stadium was built in just 13 and a half months, thanks to the work of 120 construction workers. The total cost of the operation came to five million lire which in today's terms would translate to three and a half million euro. The stadium was designed by Ulisse Stacchini, the architect whose other major work in the city was the Milan Central Station, and renowned engineer Alberto Cugini.

The inauguration

The San Siro was designed on the English model for stadiums, solely for football with four stands holding a capacity of 35,000 spectators. It opened on 19 September 1926, when a packed stadium watched Inter defeat Milan 6-3. The first league game was played on September 19, 1926 when Milan lost 2-1 to Sampierdarenese while the first international took place on February 20, 1927 and Italy drew 2-2 with Czechoslovakia. Until the end of 1945, the San Siro remained the exclusive property of Milan while Inter played their home games at the Arena in the centre of the city. The 'Theatre of Football' has gone under numerous renovations since then to create the imposing monument to the game it is today.

The first expansion

Milan sold the stadium to the city council in 1935 and three years later the decision was taken to develop the stands. Football had become more and more of a mass phenomenon so the San Siro had to be expanded to meet the demand. Architect Rocca and engineer Calzolari were given the task and they took advantage of the pre-existing structure that supported the interior to build an external ramp to enable access into the stadium. In 1952, the capacity was originally set at 150,000 but after discussions with the city council that figure was rejected. After spending 5.1 million lire on the modernisation of the stadium, the inauguration took place on May 13, 1939 when Italy drew 2-2 with England. Gate receipts for that game came to 1.2 million lire.

The second development

Work on the second expansion of the stadium started in 1954 and 12 months later, on October 26, 1955, it was opened with a capacity of 85,000. The first set of floodlights were installed in 1957 and the electronic scoreboard followed in 1967. The floodlights were modernised in 1979 when the second tier was developed. The stadium was officially renamed in honour of Giuseppe Meazza, the famous Inter and Milan player of the 1930s and 1940s, on March 3, 1980. In 1986, the first tier became an all-seated numbered and coloured section. The main central stand became red, the stands around and facing that, orange, the north stand behind the goal, green and the south stand where the Milan fans gather, blue.

The third ring

For the event of the Football World Cup 1990, the Municipality of Milan decided to proceed with the refurbishment of the “Meazza” stadium after they turned down the idea of building a new stadium due to reasons of high costs and limited time available. The first idea is to design a futuristic and stunning project: the construction of the third ring and the roof to cover all the spectators. The project, design by Architect Giancarlo Ragazzi, Architect Enrico Hoffer and Engineer Leo Finzi, consists of the construction of a third ring of stands, resting on indipendent supports designed around the existing stadium.
The structure of the new third ring rests on eleven cylindrical towers in reinforced concrete. These towers also provide access to the stands and various services and are indipendent from the existing construction. Four of these towers also support the reticular beams of the roof. To give maximum comfort all the new seats placed are ergonomic, numbered and colored in four different colors to identify the four main sectors of the stadium. The 85.700 spectators are all covered with a roof made of curved shelters of polycarbonate. Furthermore was installed a new drainage and heating system and a new flood lighting system. In june the 8th 1990 the stadium hosted the opening ceremony of the Football World Cup with the match Argentina vs Camerun. Since then the “Scala del Calcio” host the passions of millions of fans. During the summer 2008, due to the construction works to meet the new Uefa standards, the stadium capacity has become 80.018 spectators.

The figures

To complete the construction, 10,000 quintals of cement, 3,500 cubic metres of sand and 1,500 quintals of iron were needed. In order to mark out the pitch, 80kg of chalk is needed to cover a dimension of 105 metres long and 68 metres wide. The perimeter beams are 204 by 296 metres and weigh 1,100 and 2,000 tonnes, respectively. The roof is covered with 256 floodlights, emitting 3,500 watts. In order to carry out the main construction, two 64-metre high cranes were purposely installed. Inside the stadium, there are emergency exits and a service elevator with a weight capacity of 1,000 kg. The San Siro stadium is situated across from the city race course and is six kilometres from the centre of Milan.

Not only football

The San Siro stadium is a symbol of Milan (such as the Scala and the Duomo) and it’s famous not only for football but for other great events that made is history. For example the boxing match between Duilio Loi and Carlo Ortis (September 1st, 1960), a return match for the world title of welter junior. There were 53.043 people, 8 thousand near the boxing ring for the occasion. That match was won by the Italian and it yielded 130 millions. The stadium has hosted some musical concerts too. Bob Marley (June 27th, 1980) presented his show under the North Curve. There were 90 thousands people to greet the Jamaican musician. The same hail was shown for Bruce Springsteen (1985). The Red Stand has hosted even an open-air disco. Now, under the South Curve, there is a museum that follows all the A.C. Milan and Inter F.C. history through the memorabilia of the people who made that history. The stadium is visited by 50 thousand of people when there’s no matches. Since July 1st, 2001 San Siro is managed jointly by A.C. Milan and Inter F.C..

Tiga menit berselang, Catania memiliki peluang.

Sepuluh menit menjelang jeda, Inzaghi kembali memiliki peluang.

Tiang gawang dua kali tampil menggagalkan Milan menambah pundi gol.

Bad News For AC Milan : Inter menang atas Lazio

yachh...Inter so close for scudetto now..

Beberapa menit sebelum laga berakhir, Inter punya peluang menambah jumlah golnya. Namun Hernan Crespo yang harus berjuang sendirian dengan dua bek lawan akhirnya dibuat sama sekali tak berdaya, dia kehilangan bola tepat di muka kotak penalti tanpa sempat melepaskan tendangan.

Susunan Pemian
Inter: Julio Cesar; Santon (Vieira 56), Cordoba, Samuel, Chivu; Zanetti, Cambiasso, Muntari (Burdisso 74); Figo, Ibrahimovic, Mancini (Crespo 56)

Lazio: Muslera; Radu, Siviglia, Rozenhal, Kolarov; Brocchi, Ledesma, Matuzalem, Del Nero (Foggia 62); Rocchi, Zarate (Kozak 84)

Lippi : Lupakan Scudetto

Milanisti Basic Knowledge - Fossa Dei leoni

Milanisti harus tau tentang Fossa Dei Leoni..

The Fossa dei Leoni (FdL) was an Italian association of ultras football supporters of A.C. Milan founded in 1968. It was the first ultras group born into Italy.

The association was born originally as a group when a group of young supporters started to meet on the ramp 18 of popular sectors of San Siro stadium, in Milan, wearing the uniform of A.C. Milan and taking to the stadium flags and confetti. The name was chosen due to the nickname of old AC Milan's stadium.

In 1972 the moved from the ramp 18 to the middle sector of the stadium. In the same year was created the hymn, inspirated to the Italian movie "L'armata Brancaleone". In that period many Italian ultras groups going identifying themselves in different political ideas and the Fossa identified itself on to left wing, taking always at the stadiums a big banner with a picture of Che Guevara. Due to some order problems with Italian police, from 1975 to 1977 it changed its name in "Inferno Rossonero" (Red-Black Hell).

In the years the Fossa became a model for lot of Italian ultras groups and in 1982 it was cited in the italian movie "Eccezzziunale... veramente". In that movie the starring, Diego Abatantuono, played the role of the group's leader, named "Donato, the ras of the Fossa".

The association, after 37 years of activity, was offically dissolved in the date of 17 November 2005 by its members due to some polemics about two robbed banners after the match Milan-Juventus of 29 October 2005. During an internal conflict between Milan's supporters the Fossa dei Leoni was accused to collaborate with DIGOS [1] (unacceptable for ultras ideals) to obtain the restituion of the banners and some members of it was threated and attacked. At the end of that conflict the leaders of the group dediced to close the experience dissolving it [2].

Other reasons of this conflict are to search in the relationships of the group with two other historical ultras groups of A.C. Milan, Brigate Rossonere and Commandos Tigre, due to its political differences and to a struggle for leadership between Milan's supporters [3][4]. After various hypothesis to recreate the group, one month later (31 December 2005), it was founded the group "Guerrieri Ultras Curva Sud Milano" composed by lot of former members of the Fossa dei Leoni.

The hymn of the Fossa, based on to the musical theme of italian movie "L'armata Brancaleone" (1966), has got these words:
Sangue! Violenza! Fossa dei Leoni !"

Rivalries and friendships of Fossa dei Leoni with other groups are the same of the entire sector of A.C. Milan's supporters.
The principal and the oldest rivalry is againist supporters of Inter, the other football club in the city of Milan. Other main rivalries are againist supporters of Roma (twinned since early 1980's), S.S.C. Napoli (twinned since early 1980's), Juventus, Lazio, Genoa, Verona, Atalanta, Fiorentina, Sampdoria and Cagliari.
Friendship relations of the group are with few supporters groups. The only twinnage is with the ultras of Brescia.

Ancelotti, Ancelotti, Ancelotti

Questions on Milan for Adriano Galliani, this morning on his arrival at the Lega Calcio. The first one was on who would be the next Milan coach. The answer of the Rossoneri's delegate administrator: "Ancelotti, Ancelotti, Ancelotti. I talk with president Berlusconi almost every day, how can I be surprised about his declarations of yesterday? I repeat what I have always said, we'll talk about it at the end of the season. Tonight we are having dinner with Carlo Ancelotti, with him there is a wonderful relationship in good and bad times."
