Kaka Set for Madrid Move?

Latest Transfer Rumour - Real Madrid are set to offer AC Milan €70 million for their attacking midfielder Kaka.
The future of Kaka at AC Milan will be decided on Monday, according to Rossoneri owner Silvio Berlusconi.

"I will talk with Kaka next Monday and on Monday I will be able to reveal the decision," he told Italian TV. "It is early to think about what happens next." Kaka has been reportedly subject to massive bids from both Real Madrid and Chelsea.

Berlusconi, who doubles as the Italian premier, has European parliamentary elections to deal with before he can turn his attentions to football matters.

Chelsea had earlier moved to dismiss as "totally untrue" reports on Wednesday that they have tabled a world transfer record offer of £73.5million for Brazilian superstar Kaka.

A statement on the club's official website declared: "We have never made an offer to AC Milan for Kaka and therefore not one at this extraordinary level.

"As a consequence we have not discussed a salary with the player either. Any reports to the contrary are totally untrue."

The battle to sign AC Milan midfielder Kaka had appeared to take a startling twist on Wednesday evening with reports claiming Chelsea have made such a huge bid. That came in the wake of speculation on Tuesday that Real Madrid had already agreed a £56m fee, dwarfing the £46m fee Real paid Juventus for Zinedine Zidane in 2001.

It was suggested the Brazil international would be paid £10m-a-year after tax by Chelsea - an eye-watering £200,000-a-week.

Chelsea have been linked with Kaka for much of Roman Abramovich's time at the west London club but the speculation intensified with former Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti installed as Chelsea's new permanent manager.

The attacking midfielder was the subject of a £107m transfer bid from Manchester City in January but opted to remain at the San Siro.

Kaka will not be presented at Real Madrid or Chelsea until the end of the June as he is currently with the Brazil squad preparing for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers and the Confederations Cup, and the national team insist he will not be released for any official presentation until after the tournament in South Africa.

"He has asked me to put aside this story until something is made official," Brazil spokesman Rodrigo Paiva told Sky Italia. "One has to find a solution before speaking because otherwise you give false news.

"Kaka is still a Milan player even if the Spanish press want to photograph him in a Real shirt. Several journalists have called me to ask if he could go to Spain for a photocall in a Madrid shirt and then come back.

"We have two very important games and now we must only think of these. Will Kaka be presented before the Confederations Cup? No, Kaka remains with us. He will be free after South Africa."
