barca 2 - milan 2

BARBARA Berlusconi :

Menjelang pertandingan berakhir, Milan mendapatkan tendangan sudut kedua mereka.

ENGLISH
AC Milan shocked Champions League holders Barcelona with a Thiago Silva header in the final seconds to walk away with a surprising 2-2 draw at Camp Nou in the sides’ opening game in Group H on Tuesday.

Alexandre Pato opened the game with a goal just 24 seconds after kick off, which marked the fifth-fasted goal in Champions League history. Pedro and David Villa were the host's heroes as they netted a goal either side of the halftime break.

In the third minute of stoppage time, Silva popped up inside the box to meet Clarene Seedorf's corner with a powerful header which flew into the net to snatch a late point.
The match began in absolutely extraordinary fashion when, against all expectations, AC Milan surged into a 1-0 lead in the opening minute.

Pato picked the ball up virtually from kick off, knocked the it through the center of the Barcelona defense and accelerated directly towards goal, leaving Sergio Busquets trailing in his wake before slotting a cool finish under the advancing Christian Abbiati.

The early goal was exactly what the doctor ordered in terms of Massimiliano Allegri’s tactical plan, as it allowed his team to sit deep, defend in numbers and attempt to utilize Pato’s pace on the counter attack.

For a 20-minute spell following the goal, the visitors defended doggedly while testing the Barcelona rearguard, particularly the nervy Sergio Busquets, with a handful of lightning counter attacks.

Milan would remain lucky as Lionel Messi forced at least four decent saves from Abbiati before striking the outside of post with a free kick from 25 yards.

However, as the half wore on, the game was almost exclusively played in the Milan half of the field, and, despite the club's organized and disciplined defending, one moment of magic from Messi in the 35th minute proved its undoing.

The Argentine flicked the ball between Alessandro Nesta and Ignazio Abate and darted through the gap between the fullback and his central defender. He then proceeded to shrug of Abate’s weak challenge and prodded the ball across the face of goal to gift Pedro the easiest of tap-ins.

Milan’s stubborn resistance was breached for a second time five minutes after the restart, and this time there was little anyone in the Rossoneri ranks could do to prevent it as Villa curled a sublime free kick into Abbiati’s top right-hand corner from 25-yards out.

The rest of the second period played out in a predictable fashion, with Barcelona in complete control of possession, but while, less predictably, lacking penetration in the final third as Milan defended doggedly.

That was, however, until against all predictions, Silva powered home a bullet header in the third minute of stoppage time to grab a share of the spoils.

Matchday two sees the Catalan club travel to Belarus to meet Bate Borisov, while Milan hosts Viktoria Plzen at Giueseppe Meazza, with the fixtures to be played on Sept. 28.

Lineups are announced and players are warming up.

Milan 3 Palermo 0 : bravo Pato,bravo Ibra,bravo Binho

Milan: Abbiati; Abate, Yepes, Thiago Silva, Antonini;
Flamini, Ambrosini, Boateng; Seedorf; Ibrahimovic, Pato.

Palermo:
Sirigu; Cassani, Munoz, Bovo, Balzaretti; Migliaccio, Bacinovic,
Nocerino; Pastore, Ilicic; Pinilla.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored a penalty and made the third goal for Milan as they overcame Palermo at the San Siro. The home side had gone ahead midway through the first half thanks to Pato but Armin Bacinovic equalised just after the break for the away team, before Ibrahimovic stole the points for the Rossoneri at the death.

Both sides started the match at a relatively slow pace as they tried to play keep ball for the opening exchanges, but it was the away side who took the first steps to breaking the deadlock, with Armin Bacinovic making some good runs from deep that encouraged his team forward.

This momentum didn't last too long as Milan worked their way into the game and began to take over the midfield. Clarence Seedorf dropped deep and was orchestrating the midfield, showing off his excellent range of passing, which allowed Kevin-Prince Boateng freedom to bomb forward and test Salvatore Sirigu with a number of long range efforts.

Applying almost constant pressure it wasn't long before Milan broke the deadlock with Seedorf supplying the ammunition for Pato's bullet header that gave the Rossoneri the lead after 20 minutes.

With Milan having such a territorial advantage Palermo's best hope was a counter attack but their talisman Javier Pastore was off colour as he was barely afforded any time on the ball by the home side.

Mauricio Pinilla had most of Palermo's chances but he couldn't make anything of them and other than the Chilean's efforts they were restricted to tame long range shots as the half drew to a close.

But after the break it seemed Palermo had been given a few choice words from Delio Rossi as they came out with a new intent and fire, putting Milan under pressure and asking questions of Mario Yepes and Thiago Silva in defence.

However, they were dealt a blow when Javier Pastore was taken off five minutes after the restart with a knee injury, but he was replaced by club captain Fabrizio Miccoli. Just as Milan thought they had the game under control again, Bacinovic scored from long range, hitting his shot low along the ground from 25 yards.

Christian Abbiati was unsighted, though he will be bitterly disappointed to have let a seemingly tame shot past him, but his blushes were almost spared as Seedorf hit the post from inside the box at the other end.

It was however another member of the old guard that changed the game as Massimo Ambrosini burst forward and as he took the ball across the six yard box, Sirigu brought him down and a penalty was awarded.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic then stepped up to smash the ball, low into the corner and it wasn't long before the Swede was involved once again as he sprinted down the left side straight into the penalty area before playing the ball to an unmarked Robinho who made it three.

The Brazilian then had the chance to return the favour but his pass was poor and Palermo cleared as Ibrahimovic made his way into the box unmarked.

The result takes Milan to the summit of Serie A after Lazio lost to Cesena, while Palermo drop to ninth place after the midweek games and pressure will be on both teams as it's derby day this weekend, Palermo are at home to Catania and Milan are the designated away side at the San Siro when they face Inter.

Ac milan vs Chievo 3-0

AC Milan moved to the top of Serie A thanks to a 3-1 win over Chievo this evening, but they were made to work hard for all three points.

Alexandre Pato scored twice against the run of play in the first half to set the Rossoneri on their way to the top.

VIDEO Ac milan vs Chievo 3-0

An own goal from Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the 71st minute gave Chievo hope, but Robinho ended their dreams in stoppage time with his first goal for Milan sending them above Lazio into first place.

Chievo made it clear they were not just making up the numbers as they made a bold start to the game with Kevin Constant, a surprise inclusion in their midfield, particularly lively.

They did most of the attacking from start to finish, but fell behind to Milan's first counter attack in the 16th minute.

Clarence Seedorf started the attack from deep in his own half and he sent Luca Antonini forward down the left.

The Milan full-back passed the ball wide to Ibrahimovic, who picked out Pato at the far post and the Brazilian volleyed the ball back across Stefano Sorrentino into the opposite corner of his goal.

Pablo Granoche should have done better with a header from eight yards after being found by Constant's cross in the 24th minute before an excellent team move in the 28th minute culminated in Constant shooting straight at Abbiati, who made an instinctive save to deny him.

The ball fell back to Constant, who was denied again by the Milan goalkeeper.

Chievo were continuing to pose the greater threat, but a quick free-kick from Ibrahimovic sent Pato through to double Milan's lead against the run of play on the half-hour mark.

Sorrentino then denied Pato a hat-trick with a good save on the stroke of half time.

Chievo continued to believe in their chances of getting back into the game and substitute Cyril Thereau tested Abbiati with a curling 30-yard shot which was tipped over the crossbar.

They finally got the goal they deserved in the 71st minute when Sergio Pellissier flicked a corner on with his head and the ball took a deflection off Ibrahimovic's shoulder to divert into the top corner of the goal.

Gelson Fernandes nearly levelled three minutes later with a shot wide of the post from the edge of the penalty area, but the Flying Donkeys ran out of steam.

Robinho pounced with the Chievo defence stretched to round Sorrentino and stroke the ball in for his first goal for the Rossoneri in stoppage time to seal the 3-1 victory.

Milan 4 Lecce 0

Alexandre Pato sounded a warning to Zlatan Ibrahimovic that he does not intend to give up his place at AC Milan without a fight by scoring twice as AC Milan opened their Serie A account with an impressive opening-weekend win over Lecce.

MILAN: Abbiati; Bonera, Nesta, Thiago Silva, Antonini; Ambrosini, Pirlo, Seedorf; Ronaldinho, Borriello, Pato

LECCE: Rosati; Vives, Donati, Sini , Giuliatto, Ferrario; Munari, Giacomazzi, Grossmuller; Mesbah; Corvia

With Ibrahimovic joining the Rossoneri from Barcelona on an initial loan deal which will become permanent next summer, the pressure was on the young Brazilian and Pato responded with two goals inside the opening 29 minutes as Massimiliano Allegri's first game in charge ended in a comprehensive victory.

Thiago Silva also scored in between Pato's strikes as newly-promoted Lecce endured a tricky return to the top flight.

Veteran striker Filippo Inzaghi grabbed a late fourth to complete the win and send Milan - albeit after just one game - to the top of the table.

The onslaught started early with Brazilian centre-half Thiago Silva smashing in a 35-yard drive which Antonio Rosati in the Lecce goal did superbly well to tip over for a corner.

Rosati was powerless to keep out Pato four minutes later, however, the 20-year-old converting Massimo Ambrosini's pass.

It was 2-0 after 23 minutes as Thiago Silva fired home after a goalmouth scramble.

There was no let-up for poor Lecce with Pato scoring his second of the night in the 29th minute, beating the offside trap to run on to countryman Ronaldinho's pass before rounding the goalkeeper and slotting into an empty net.

Ronaldinho looked full of confidence and his impudent effort from the halfway line landed just wide.

Clarence Seedorf almost made it 4-0 before the break but the veteran Dutchman's volley clipped the post and went wide.

Ibrahimovic was presented to the San Siro crowd at half-time and the Swede will have been impressed with what he saw on the pitch as Milan continued to press.

Daniele Corvia threatened briefly for Lecce before Milan got back on top.

Marco Borriello had the ball in the net but saw his effort controversially disallowed for offside while Inzaghi hit the post minutes after his introduction.

The outstanding Pato was then denied by Rosati, as was Inzaghi six minutes before the end.

Inzaghi did find the back of the net with time almost up when, following some fine work by Gennaro Gattuso, he prodded past Rosati to complete a good night's work for Allegri.

Emirates Cup 2010 : AC milan 1 Arsenal 1

Arsenal: Fabianski; Gibbs (Clichy 46), Koscielny, Vermaelen, Ebouè (Sagna 46); Rosicky (Walcott 46), Frimpong (Djourou 69), Wilshere, Nasri; Arshavin (Vela 62), Chamakh (Randall 72)

Milan: Abbiati; Papastathopoulos (Zambrotta 65), Nesta, Yepes, Antonini; Gattuso (Merkel 62), Seedorf, Flamini (Strasser 77); Abate (Verdi 81), Borriello (Baretta 69), Pato (Oddo 82)

Milan came away with a well-deserved 1-1 with Arsenal in their first game of the Emirates Cup in London. Coach Massimiliano Allegri saw plenty of positive performances throughout the team but particular from Abbiati and Flamini while Pato confirmed what a dangerous striker he is.

The Rossoneri were under pressure early on but Pato sprinted into the area but closed down as the Brazilian tried to square the ball back along the six-yard area. The same player then dipped a header wide from a Seedorf corner.

Flamini had an effort deflected off Koscielny and onto the woodwork after a long ball from Yepes was knocked down into his path on 21 minutes.

Arsenal opened the scoring on 36 minutes when Marouane Chamakh slotted home from inside the area after collecting a through ball from Arshavin.

Rodisky then shot straight at Abbiati but it was Milan who looked lively going forward in the closing stages of the first-half as Borriello almost raced on to a long ball after Pato had cut inside to go close with a shot which just went over the bar.

On 51 minutes, Flamini forced Fabianski into a smart save at his near post. At the other end, there was good Rossoneri defending to keep Wiltshire out as the game opened up.

Just after the hour-mark Rino Gattuso made way for Under-19 German international Alexander Merkel and soon after Papastathopoulos made way for Zambrotta. Berretta came on for Borriello on 69 minutes as Allegri continued to ring the changes.

Milan found the equaliser on 77 minutes when Pato glanced a downward header home from close range following a curling free-kick from Seedorf from the left.

Abbiati then made a double save from Randall as Allegri rang more chances, with Strasser on for Flamini, Verdi for Abate and Oddo replacing Pato.

Four minutes from full-time Zambrotta hit the bar with a stunning effort in what was certainly positive afternoon for Allegri's men.

Lazio 1- Milan 2

Viva milan
Viva pato
Viva Thiago silva

At the Stadio Olimpico of Rome it finished Lazio-Milan 1-2. In the second half the Biancocelesti reduced the disadvantage with Thiago Silva's own goal in the 65th minute. At half time it was 0-2 thanks to goals by Thiago Silva in the 21st minute and Pato in the 35th.

Lazio - Muslera; Lichtsteiner, Siviglia, Radu, Kolarov; Brocchi, Baronio, Mauri; Matuzalem; Rocchi, Zarate.

MILAN - Dida; Oddo, Nesta, Thiago Silva, Zambrotta; Ambrosini, Pirlo; Seedorf; Pato, Borriello, Ronaldinho

In-form AC Milan moved up to third in Serie A after inflicting a home defeat on Lazio which leaves the Rome side hovering just above the relegation zone.

Thiago Silva put the visitors ahead in the 21st minute before Alexandre Pato extended his team's lead before the break.

Lazio reduced the arrears in the 64th minute when Silva deflected Mauro Zarate's strike into his own goal.

The hosts had chances to level the score but Milan held on to claim all three points.

The outcome means it is four wins in the last five league games for Leonardo's Milan while Lazio are still searching for their first triumph since August 30.

The hosts went into the game on the back of a 4-1 midweek humiliation at Villarreal in the Europa League.

Davide Ballardini's men enjoyed a good start and should have taken an early lead.

Roberto Baronio's pass found an unmarked Tommaso Rocchi inside the area and he fired wide.

Shortly after, Aleksandar Kolarov's left-footed strike forced Dida to make a good save.

At the other end, Lazio goalkeeper Fernando Muslera did well to keep out Massimo Oddo's strike from the edge of the area.

There was little Muslera could do to prevent the Rossoneri taking the lead as Silva latched onto a free-kick by Andrea Pirlo and nodded past Muslera.

The Rossoneri maintained the pressure and almost doubled their advantage soon after.

Pato did well to get behind Pirlo's cross from the right but his weak header proved an easy catch for Muslera.

The home side reacted and almost levelled the score on the half-hour mark when Zarate smashed in a powerful free-kick that Dida managed to palm over the bar.

Ten minutes before half-time and Pato made it 2-0.

Ronaldinho's cross found his fellow Brazilian inside the area and Pato's header went inside the top right-hand corner of the goal.

Dida made sure his team went into the break with a 2-0 lead, diving to his right to parry away Matuzalem's stinging drive from distance.

Ballardini made his first substitution after the re-start, with Julio Cruz replacing Stefano Mauri, but Milan's dominance continued in the second half.

Pirlo's curled free-kick went just over the bar.

Shortly after, Marco Borriello did well to control Pirlo's pass inside the area but was unable to fire on target.

On the hour mark, Massimo Ambrosini made a crucial clearance inside the area with Cruz ready to strike from close range.

Lazio reduced the deficit soon after, with Dida having no chance to save Zarate's deflected shot.

The goal inspired the hosts, who surged forward looking for an equaliser.

They were almost rewarded with 15 minutes remaining.

Meghni's cross from the left found Rocchi inside the area but his header went wide.

The visitors dominated the closing stages of the game.

Muslera made a great save to deny Flamini while the Lazio keeper was forced to fully stretch to clear Pato's bullet strike from the edge of the area in what was the last chance of the game.

Real Madrid 2 - 3 AC Milan

At the Santiago Bernabeu of Madrid Milan beat Real 3-2. In the second half goals by Andrea Pirlo in the 63rd minute and a brace by Alexandre Pato (66', 89'). For Madrid Reaul scored in the 19th minute and Drenthe in the 77th.

Alexandre Pato saved the blushes of fellow Brazilian Dida with a brace as AC Milan stunned Real Madrid at the Bernabeu to get their Champions League challenge back on track and inflict only a second competitive defeat of the season on their big-spending hosts.

For a while it looked as though Dida`s dreadful first-half error, which allowed Raul to give Madrid a half-time lead, would cost Milan dear but Pato popped up in the 88th minute to volley home his side`s winner and help the Italians bounce back from defeat to FC Zurich in their previous Group C match.

That was Pato`s second goal of the game, as he had also put Milan ahead in the 66th minute after Andrea Pirlo's equaliser just minutes before.

Royston Drenthe was the other goalscorer, making it 2-2 in the 76th minute, but his effort could not save Madrid in the battle between the two most successful sides in European Cup history.

The results means seven-time European champions Milan join Madrid, who have won the competition a record nine times, on six points at the midway point of the group stages.

Madrid were convinced Karim Benzema should have been awarded a penalty in the 14th minute after the France striker went crashing to the ground following a challenge from behind by Gianluca Zambrotta.

That incident was forgotten five minutes later when Madrid took the lead following Dida's error.

The Milan goalkeeper comfortably saved Esteban Granero`s head-high shot but, in looking up to see where his team-mates were, he took his eye off the ball before he had complete control of it.

The subsequent fumble was pounced on by the alert Raul, who nicked the ball away from the Brazil keeper before side-footing into an empty net.

That was Raul`s 66th Champions League goal and completed a memorable few days for the veteran forward, who before Saturday`s home game with Real Valladolid was presented with a trophy for breaking Madrid`s appearance record.

Raul`s strike was the only thing that separated the two sides at the end of a closely-fought first half, with the only other decent effort coming from Marcelo on the stroke of half-time.

The dearth of chances in the first period was in stark contrast to the start of the second, when Madrid had four decent efforts in the opening 10 minutes.

Raul drove one wide of the far post, while Dida pluck his attempted chip out of the air.

The Brazilian goalkeeper partly made amends for his first-half howler as he produced fine saves to deny former Milan favourite Kaka and tip over Benzema`s shot from outside the box.

With Milan offering little going forward and Ronaldinho anonymous, it looked only a matter of time before the home side increased their lead.

But completely against the run of play, Milan not only found an equaliser but also managed to take the lead in a remarkable four-minute spell that turned the game upside down.

Although not in the same league as Dida`s earlier mistake, Madrid keeper Iker Casillas may feel he could have done better with both of Milan`s goals.

The first saw the Spain number one beaten at his right-hand post by Pirlo`s 35-yard thunderbolt, and he then raced out to meet Massimo Ambrosini`s through-ball only to see the ball slid past him off the rain-soaked surface and present Pato with an open net.

Madrid coach Manuel Pellegrini, lacking Cristiano Ronaldo, Gonzalo Higuain and Ruud van Nistelrooy through injury, opted to give Royston Drenthe a chance and the move proved to be an inspired one as the Dutchman drew Madrid level with 14 minutes to go.

The former Feyenoord man has suffered from the Bernabeu boo boys in the past, but he sent the stadium into raptures as he brought down Raul`s corner on the edge of the box before drilling home a low left-footed shot just inside the post.

However, that was not enough to earn Madrid a point as Milan claimed the spoils thanks to Pato`s late strike.

The visitors really should have gone ahead moments earlier when Thiago Silva saw an apparently good goal controversially ruled out after he headed home a corner.

But Leonardo`s men need not have worried as in the 88th minute former Madrid midfielder Clarence Seedorf picked out the unmarked Pato and he volleyed home at the far post.

Milan 2 Roma 1

Alexandre Pato ended his scoring drought on Sunday night with the winning goal as AC Milan edged out Roma at the San Siro.

The Brazil striker had not scored since his two strikes against Siena in the Serie A opener but he handed the struggling Rossoneri all three points.

Jeremy Menez gave Roma a third-minute lead before Ronaldinho equalised shortly after the re-start.

Pato then made the most of a wonderful pass from Ronaldinho in the 67th minute to put the hosts in front for good.

Milan were forced to play the last eight minutes of the game with 10 men after captain Massimo Ambrosini was shown a second yellow card for a foul on Nicolas Burdisso but held on for their third victory to climb to eighth in the standings.

No victory has tasted as sweet as this one for Milan's rookie coach Leonardo, who went into the game under pressure with his team having mustered just two points in the last three games.

The home side suffered a blow before the game with goalkeeper Marco Storari ruled out because of flu but veteran Dida proved to be a sturdy replacement.

With Roma's top scorer Francesco Totti unavailable because of a knee injury, Roma coach Claudio Ranieri played with Mirko Vucinic up front and they took an early lead when Thiago Silva's back-pass was intercepted by Menez. He made no mistake and fired past Dida.

Milan first tested Roma goalkeeper Alexander Doni in the 14th minute with Andrea Pirlo's free-kick forcing the keeper to punch away.

Midway through the first half, Daniele De Rossi tried his luck from long range and his powerful effort forced Dida to fully stretch to turn the ball out for a corner.

At the other end, John Arne Riise did well to anticipate Ronaldinho's pass towards Pato as Milan began to come into the game.

Roma should have doubled their lead in the 38th minute after a fast counter-attack left Vucinic with only Dida to beat but his close-range effort was met by a fine save by the keeper.

The hosts almost equalised before the break with Roma's defence failing to clear the ball inside the area. Clarence Seedorf's effort hit the post, though.

Leonardo made one substitution at the interval with Filippo Inzaghi replacing Ignazio Abate.

The replacement almost made an immediate impact, latching onto a corner and heading past Doni only for David Pizarro to make a goalline clearance.

At the other end, Menez surged into the area and fired in an effort which was saved by Dida.

In the 55th minute, the referee pointed to the spot after Burdisso brought down Alessandro Nesta inside the area. Ronaldinho sent Doni the wrong way to level the score.

On the hour mark, Dida was forced to make a desperate clearance with his foot from Riise's powerful free-kick.

Pato then latched on to Ronaldinho's pass and got past Doni before firing into the back of the net.

Roma should have pulled level soon after but Riise failed to find the finishing touch inside the box after Simone Perrotta had tested Dida seconds earlier.

Playing with a numerical superiority, Roma surged forward and enjoyed two good chances.

Substitute Julio Baptista's free-kick went high over the bar while shortly after, Stefano Guberti's diagonal strike from inside the area forced Dida to make a save.

MILAN: Dida; Oddo, Nesta, Thiago Silva, Zambrotta; Abate, Pirlo, Ambrosini, Seedorf; Pato, Ronaldinho.
ROMA: Doni; Cassetti, Mexes, Burdisso, Riise; Taddei, De Rossi, Pizzarro, Perrotta; Menez, Vucinic

Here is the list of players called up for Siena-Milan: Perucchini, Roma, Storari, Antonini, Favalli, Jankulovski, Nesta, Onyewu, Thiago Silva, Zambrotta, Abate, Ambrosini, Flamini, Gattuso, Pirlo, Seedorf, Borriello, Inzaghi, Pato, Ronaldinho.
Unavailable players: Dida, Abbiati, Bonera, Di Gennaro.
Players not called up: Kaladze, Oddo, Zigoni.
Suspended: Huntelaar.

Here are the main declarations of the Rossoneri's coach.

HUNTELAAR'S SUSPENSION
"We knew, there was the hope to remove it, but there was not possibility to field him. Unfortunately he cannot play, but we knew that.

THE FIRST MATCH AGAINST SIENA AND THE SEASON
"The first matchday arrives, now we are all at zero points and we start off on the same level. Tomorrow's game is one we can have to face fully concentrated. We must act like in the Berlusconi Trophy, playing with the same attention and concentration. It was an important month of work, I think that the team is ready.

"Starting out well is always fundamental, managing to give a fingerprint to our performance would important for ourselves. I don't think that it is decisive to win or lose, but I think that the team is able to start off well. We have reacted well to the difficulties and the proof was Milan-Juve at San Siro. We need to give a signal straight away to ourselves and to the others to prove what we are. We cannot say today what we are, it will be the games to say so, in the path of the season.

"Who can win the Scudetto? I will not make too many calculations, let's think about ourselves and to how we can improve. Starting from Bonera, Dida and Abbiati, apart from Di Gennaro, we have available everyone and this is very important. We know the commitments we have, I don't want to stay here to preach what we shall do and what we will not do. Milan can always start with the willl to win. Game after game, we shall understand what we can do. We start out knowing that we are Milan and that we have inside us this will to win. Then it will be the games to determine things. We play match after match and we'll see where we can arrive.

FORMATION AND INJURIES

"The formation doubts will always be there and if we will have the entire squad available, the doubts will always be welcome. Everyone is returning and this is what matters. The basis to the squad which goes on the pitch is that of the team who played in the Berlusconi Trophy.

"Borriello or Inzaghi? I see them well both, they are different players. The choice can be for their characteristics. I will keep the doubt until tomorrow, I want to understand also how Siena will play, we don't know exactly what to expect. They tried the 4-3-1-2, but they also have the possibility for the 4-3-3. We'll see.

"Kaladze had a series of injuries, he stopped, he is doing a new period of preparation. His week has been very good, he's close to be totally available. If this team will always have its potential available, it will be a good season. Oddo not called-up? With Massimo I have always spoken and I had done so also with Kalac. Right from the start I told him that I had some ideas and that if he had found a better place than the one of Milan today, we could have spoke about it. He has always worked hard in all of the moments of the preparation and this is very important. The transfer market is open. If he had to find a better place we'll see. De Silvestri? In the transfer market one thing is tied to another, we must see. We have to wait. We start off with this group and I think that it's a valid group. The idea is a player on the wing, but there are many impossible names. We'll see what is possible until August 31. The moment in general, on the transfer market, is of economic difficulty. We see the big clubs, but also the average and the small ones. It's a period like this."

A FIRST BALANCE
"We're coming from a tiring month, useful for some tests. Today I feel strong, more inside the squad, I confronted myself with a different role which I like more, I find in the players a continuous response which makes me go forward. All that we have suffered last year we paid for it even until today: the recovery of Nesta and Gatuzo, fundamental players, Borriello who was out for a year, Kaladze out for a long period, Bonera still out, Inzaghi, Seedorf and Ambro at times not available during the preparation... I did not expect a brilliant Milan for these reasons. What I see today is that this team has a unique sense of belonging, to Milan: everyone knows their importance and what it is to live the Rossoneri's world. This is the departure. The rest, tactics, form and so one, must be built. The solid base is a matter of pride and objectives and this exists and is increasing. It's this energy that makes the world go round, the rest is built day after day.

"How can you have trust in this Milan? During the preparation we did not prove our real value. Until Chelsea, in reality we had done very well, until the squad was full and complete. We were not in form but we had energies to use. From then onwards, Amrbo and Seedorf stopped, Borriello, Nesta and Gattuso felt the initial sprint. What this team is, is not the picture of the preparation. The week of work at Milanello was very positive and it was a proud response to start again. At our return from America I think that Milan improved a lot."

THE BENCH DEBUT

"If I'm excited for the bench debut? Sincerely my personal stories I now see them useless, I'm in the role of thinking about the others' emotions, not mine. This career is a surprise for me. I'm thinking about making a career, I'm responding to a call of a club to whom I'm completely tied and I try to do my best, with what is my experience. Honestly my personal stories and emotions fall a bit. I'm only worried about reching my objectives.

SILVIO BERLUSCONI AND RONALDINHO

"My rapport with Berlusconi is very good. When he talks about swage cuts and so on, he speaks like a football director, more than as Milan president. He talks about a football idea which needs to be re-thought. His words are tied to ties, for a more sustainable football in the future.

"Berlusconi is in love with Ronaldinho, he knows that he has a pearl at home which needs to be used at its best. I have known Ronaldinho since always, I know his story, I play for years with his brother, I'm Brazilian. His training session today was beautiful to see. He must do what he did today always. I will do everything to make him and the entire team give their best. I want to get from him, and from those who can, the best. He's improving, he's returning, either now or never, his moment for Milan and the national team is now, in all sense, also for the prearation he has made.

THE BRAZILIANS, THE NATIONAL TEAM AND THE ROSSONERI'S TACTICS

"Pato is an incredible talent who must affirm himself in the national teal. Thiago is paying for those six months he did with us without playing. I think that both, just like Ronaldino, will soon return in Brazil. Egoistically we have them here for ourselves, it's a positive thing. Ronaldinho today is playing as a forward. We play with 4-3-1-2 with Ronaldinho as forward and he must be decisive in attack. We play like we have always played. I Pato can become top-scorer. He has enormous possibilities, he has grown, he has become more man also in his physique. He has speed, he is spontaneous in his movements, easily arrives, but he needs to find continuity. He has scored 15 goals last year, but he has head of him still many things to do."

LIPPI-MOURINHO

"The row between Mourinho-Lippi? I'm out of it, in order not to add other opinions. It's not that I don't want to sway one side or the other, it's that I have other things in my mind. What I can say is that I'm happy about the good luck tha Mourinho gave me in Boston and the charge that Lippi gave me at the Berlusconi trophy. We met and he was very nice with me."

"Kaka bukan pencipta permainan sepakbola. Alexandre Pato dapat mengantikan perannya di sana (di belakang dua penyerang," ujarnya kepada Channel4.

Sedangkan untuk Ronaldinho sendiri, Berlusconi tak lupa memberikan kata penyemangat. Dia yakin bahwa Ronaldinho akan menampilkan performa yang lebih baik musim depan.

"Ronaldinho akan memiliki tahun yang hebat," tandasnya.

Milan serius incar Dzeko

Galliani lalu mengomentari batalnya perekrutan Aly Cissokho.
